Schoeller’s coldblack finishing technology has been developed further and now offers sun protection. It actively influences the absorption of sunlight and helps to keep the wearer cool. The technology offers protection from harmful UV rays and is available on request for almost all Schoeller fabrics and colours.

Dark textiles are known to absorb light and heat, and coldblack was initially developed to absorb heat rays. Now the finish can also provide a minimum UV protection level of at least 30, guaranteed. Often an UPF of 50+ can be achieved without affecting the feel or look of the basic fabric. It is also guaranteed to be permanent.
