Birla Cellulose unveils new green knowledge network

15/09/2008

Viscose staple fibre specialist Birla Cellulose has introduced ‘The Green Knowledge Network’, a platform exclusively for the global cellulose community.

The concept is designed to improve information, innovation and trade. The network will include all members of the global cellulosic value chain including spinners, weaver, fabricators, processors, garmentors, designers, brands and retail companies. Membership will give companies access to global markets and help them to build a global supply chain, helping users get the best prices, products and lead times.

The network will be led by the Textile Research and Application Development Center (TRADC) of Birla Cellulose. TRADC will introduce new products to members as well as services for sampling and prototype development, problem solving and testing, knowledge transfers and supply chain training and product and process innovations.

With production facilities spread across six countries, Birla Cellulose supplies viscose to more than 40 countries worldwide.
