RadiciGroup to present Sunshield at Expofil
Italian chemicals, plastics, synthetic fibres and textile machinery provider RadiciGroup is to showcase SunShield at Expofil, which will take place in Paris from September 23-26.
SunShield is a skin-core structured yarn with incorporated UV protection specifically designed for sportswear. The skin layer of the yarn consists of bright polyester, while the core is made of super opaque polymer containing nanometric TiO2 particles with an extra master titanium dioxide (a bactericide) additive. The titanium core, which is the component that shields against UV rays, provides protection against solar radiation. The core also solves the see-through problem, even in wet fabrics.
Its main applications are in sportswear, and particularly sports apparel that requires a cooling effect.
