Italian firms to present new technology at Simatex
The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers (ACIMIT) and the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) are to join together a number of Italian exhibitors at Simatex, which will take place in Buenos Aires from November 11-14.
The two associations will host more than 10 Italian textile machinery manufacturers and visitors will be presented with new spinning, weaving, knitting and finishing technologies.
Between 2003 and 2007, Italian exports to Argentina rose 17% per year. In 2007 alone, Italian exports to Argentina totalled €23 million, up 15% compared with 2006.
In 2007, total production of Italian textile machinery totalled €2.8 billion, 77% of which (worth €2.1 billion) was exported to approximately 130 countries. Asia is the main export destination, accounting for around 43%, followed by Europe (38%), Latin America (9%), Africa (5%) and North America (5%).
