Good turnout at AATCC/CTIC conference

More than 350 delegates attended the recent two-day conference on ‘Colour Technology for Best Practice and Sustainability in the Textile Supply Chain’ organised by the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) and China Textile Information Centre (CTIC).

The conference focused on building a sustainable apparel supply chain with particular emphasis on colour and the use of colour technology. The opening address was given by CNTAC vice president, Sun Ruizhe, and session chairs included Martin Bide (AATCC president), Susan Williams (SDC president) and Albert Fu (CTIC vice president).

Speakers included Martin Jollenbeck, Clariant International; Ulrich Hanxleden, DyStar GmbH; Esther Ng, Luen Thai Holdings Ltd; Keith Hoover, J C Penney Co; John Chan, Polo Ralph Lauren; Sean Cady, Levi Strauss & Co, Martin Bide, University of Rhode Island; and Howard Williams, Marks and Spencer plc. (Presentations were also given by China National Textile and Apparel Council, Hualian Garment Company Co. Ltd, Wuxi Natural Textile Industrial Co. Ltd, New Wide Group, The People’s Government of Humen Town, Beijing Aimer Lingerie Company Ltd and Gaiqi (China) KDG Company Ltd.
