Firefighting apparel uses Nomex and Goretex technology

24/09/2008
Australian Defence Apparel (ADA) has worked with Queensland Fire & Rescue Service (QFRS) to protective apparel for its firefighters.

ADA’s in-house research & development division created a new-generation structural firefighting ensemble to meet the performance requirements of AS4967:2006. It also provides breathability to help control the wearer’s body temperature, provides physiological/ergonomic benefits to increase comfort and mobility and reduces garment load while maintaining protection against external thermal threat.

The new QFRS firefighting ensemble features a Nomex outer barrier with a Goretex moisture barrier technology.
