A recent meeting in Jingjiang City, China, welcomed all the large and medium sized Chinese zip manufacturers as well as international companies such as YKK. During the gathering, a new chairman was elected for the zip division of the Chinese Hardware Goods Association.

Shi Nenhui of Fujian SBS Zipper Science and Technology Company will now act as chairman for zip division on the association’s behalf.

In 2007, production value for the Chinese zip industry was almost 34.5 billion yuan ($5.1 billion), a 15% rise compared with 2006. Sales of zips made in the Zhejiang Province accounted for almost 12 billion yuan of this, while the Guangdong Province, Fujian Province and Jiangsu Province contributed nearly 10 billion yuan, 5.5 billion yuan and three billion yuan, respectively.
