Ten Cate JV to offer workwear fabrics in Asia
Union Protective Fabrics Asia Ltd, the recently established joint venture company between Netherlands-based Royal Ten Cate and Thailand’s Union Textile Industries has revealed plans to serve the Asian markets with high performance fabrics for workwear.
President and CEO of Royal Ten Cate, Mr L de Vries, said during the joint venture press conference that the company sees the increasing need for safety in Asian work environments, and for better protection against hazards at work, such as fire, heat and chemicals.
“Our joint venture is the first activity of a non-Asian company in protective fabrics for workwear in the emerging Asian world,” claims Mr de Vries.
The plant and production facilities of the joint venture span approximately 11,000 m² in the Samutprakan province. It started operations on August 16 and has approximately 200 employees.
