Invista builds textile research centre in Shanghai
Invista is to build a new textile research facility in the Qingpu District of Shanghai. The facility will be its third textile research centre in the world, following the establishment of centres in the US and Taiwan.
The centre is expected to commence operations in May 2009 and is designed to serve customers in mainland China as well as the rest of the Asian region.
Focusing on application and commercialisation of new fibres and fabrics, the centre is expected to offer solutions for every major aspect of the production process, ranging from yarn processing, knitting, dyeing to finishing. With a planned floor area of more than 3,000 m², the facility will be operated by Invista Fiber (Shanghai) Company Limited on the same site as the company’s spandex plant.
