Première Vision scores optimistic result

01/10/2008

The autumn editions of the six component events that make up Première Vision Pluriel took place in Paris at the end of September.

Afterwards, the organisers said that, in spite of an exceptionally difficult worldwide economic climate, the atmosphere had been positive. Exhibitors, they said, including fabric and yarn manufacturers targetting the outdoor and sports apparel space, had shown creativity and quality, winning praise from buyers from many different parts of the world for their originality.

Among the events of greatest interest to the outdoor sector were Première Vision, which had 720 exhibitors, and Expofil, which had 49. On display were bold fabric collections for autum-winter 2009-2010, and innovative yarns for spring-summer 2010; across the four days they received 44,300 visits from international professionals working in fashion textiles.

This is 6% lower than last year, but the organisers described it as "a fine turnout" given the current economic turmoil, and also given the travel disturbances caused by a strike on the train line serving Charles de Gaulle Airport and the exhibition site during the first two days of the events.
