New bikini for the UV-conscious

Canadian swimwear brand Solestrom has come up with a novel way to help wearers stay safe in the sun.
Its new SmartSwim UV Intensity Bikini has decorative beads holding the two pieces of the bathing suit together. When UV rise, the beads change colour, becoming darker has the levels of ultraviolet radiation go up, even on cloudy days.
A Solestrom spokesman said: "We realised consumers were already becoming more conscious of the harmful effects of spending too long in sunlight, but the demand for this bikini has been even stronger than we expected."
