MEC to tap into its “wealth of knowledge”

One of Canada’s largest outdoor retailers, Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC), has integrated TEXbase software solutions to help streamline its internal material development process, improve its ability to control quality standards and create efficiencies that it hopes will bring company-wide growth.
MEC found that its day-to-day workflow had become cumbersome because it involved organising large amounts of data including lab tests and performance specifications. The company hopes the TEXbase software will help it deliver on its brand promise to provide innovative and durable products without sacrificing quality.
“MEC has spent years testing and evaluating materials. We were finding that our accumulative wealth of information was stored in multiple locations and in multiple formats at our fingertips, but not easily retrievable. TEXbase is helping us tap into our own wealth of knowledge by providing a comprehensive accessible database that can be used as a design resource instead of a vault of information,” said Greg Scott, materials development manager at MEC.
