Geneva-based online sourcing platorm MFG.com has announced the debut of its new MFGtextiles.com marketplace developed for buyers and purchasing professionals throughout the textile supply chain, as well as manufacturers of apparel and footwear.

The platform aims to connect a buyer’s design and production requirements with a factory’s capability, bringing buyers and suppliers together to allow them to conduct business in a quick and efficient way.

“We are launching an online sourcing platform that is truly transactional for the global textile marketplace estimated
at a trillion dollars a year," said Mitch Free, chief executive and founder of MFG.com. "MFGtextiles.com has been live quietly for a few months and already over one billion dollars worth of requests for quotes have been submitted – everyone is sourcing, from global brands, to boutique brands, to rock stars trying to launch their own clothing lines."

He said the software means buyers can source precisely what they want exactly when they need it, and that more than 15,000 trading partners are already registered and active.
