Protection for textiles

Peru’s ministry of overseas trade has announced that tariffs of 17% in place for textile imports from China will remain in place after the two countries sign an impeding free trade agreement.
Vice-minister Eduardo Ferreyros said: “We have prioritised the protection of sensitive products, which means that textile, shoe, metalwork and clothes goods are excluded from the trade deal.”
