Sugoi hires new COO
Vancouver-based Sugoi Performance Apparel, a division of Dorel Industries, has appointed Mr B James Bottoms chief operating officer.
Mr Bottoms has joined the company from Mountain Hardwear, Inc. where, as director of operations, he served on the five-person executive team overseeing all aspects of the company’s customer service and distribution, production, supply chain and logistics, planning and purchasing.
Sugoi president, Stan Mavis, said: “James is absolutely at the top of his profession, and his addition will have enormous benefits to our operations and expansion.”
Prior to joining Mountain Hardwear, Mr Bottoms was director of global operations at Eagle Creek from 2001 to 2005. He has also served as international sales and customer service account manager at Freudenberg Nonwovens and in top positions from 1995 to 2000 at Chorus Line Corporation in Los Angeles. He began his career as Distribution Team Manager at VF Jeanswear – Wrangler Division, managing a team of 120 direct operators.
Mr Bottoms has served as a Working Group Vice Chair for the Outdoor Industry Association and as a board member for the Apparel Technology and Research Center.
