100% chemical-free wool at Nikke
Japanese wool manufacturer The Japan Wool Textile Co. Ltd. (Nikke) is developing a special line of Tasmanian grown wool that will be certified to be chemical free by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO).
The wool will be scoured at the company’s mill in Australia and will then be exported to Japan to be converted into yarns and textile products.
Other products offered by the company, which was established in 1896, include Technotwin a multilayer wool blend that offers moisture management, Arostretch, a two-way stretch fabric and Sportwool, which is said to offer breathability and temperature regulation properties.
