Italy-based warp-knit fabrics producer Carvico SpA is setting up a new production plant in Vietnam.

The company is set to invest $27 million in the new factory, which will cover an area of more than 40,000 m². It will include warping, knitting and dyeing departments. The plant is expected to be in operation at the end of June 2009 and aims to 20 million meters of fabric a year.

Carvico’s 2007 turnover was approximately €102 million, two thirds of was derived from exports.
