Growth continues at Lanxess
Specialty chemicals company Lanxess AG has posted strong growth in the third quarter and has now raised its full-year guidance.
Third quarter sales rose 6.4% to €1.81 billion compared with €1.77 million in the corresponding period last year. Adjusted for portfolio and currency effects, sales grew 13.6%. Net income in the third quarter was €56 million compared with €75 million in the prior-year period.
Sales grew across all segments in the third quarter. Sales in the performance polymers segment rose 40.6% to €938 million compared with €667 million in the prior-year period, while sales in the advanced intermediates segment rose from €298 million last year to €344 million. Performance chemicals sales rose 5.5% to €520 million compared with €493 million.
