New industrial orders fell 4.6% in both the EU and euro zone compared with August figures. These declines follow a 1.7% in the EU and a 1.5% drop in the euro zone in August.

For the year ending September, orders fell 0.9% in the EU and 1.1% in the euro zone.

Despite this, new orders for textiles and textile products rose by 0.4% in the euro area and by 0.5% in the EU27 during September. Orders for chemicals and chemical products grew 0.1% in both zones.
