Following requests from the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA), textiles minister Rana Farooq Saeed Khan has announced that a new garment city will be established in Sialkot.

The minister also said that government would provide support for the garment industry in order to allow clothing firms to upgrade production processes and to explore new international markets.
 
Mr Khan revealed this at a seminar entitled ‘Emerging Trends and Issues in the Sportswear Industry in Sialkot’, organised by PRGMEA and the Ministry of Textiles.
