Texworld organisers ready for next year

Despite the upheaval in the global economy, the organisers of the Texworld exhibition—which next opens its doors in Paris on February 9—claim they have no cause for concern, as the range of products on display at the show “exactly corresponds to the requirements of trade buyers”.
Consumers are, now more than ever, searching for creative clothing at the best value in national markets, organising body, Messe Frankfurt, has said. Texworld offers a very diverse product range with a wealth of variety, quality and creativity, while still remaining extremely competitive.
Visitors (around 16,000 people, 87% of whom are international) widely approve of the exhibition’s positioning as well as the policy of services that have been put in place by the management, according to the latest surveys.
On display in February will be a 2010 spring-summer season that, Messe Frankfurt insists, will be especially appealing, colourful and full of optimism, in response to a general desire: to see the horizon brighten up.
There will be six areas of activity: cotton, wool, prints, silk, knitwear and linen. Exhibitors in the extensive cotton sector will include the Chinese Zhonghe Group, the Pakistani Kohinoor Mills, and the great Indian producer Alok Industries. Next to cotton, the denim sector will be represented by Pakistani exhibitors such as Artistic Denim Mills, US Denim, and by K.G.Denim from India. There will also be shirting from the Turkish specialists in yarn-dyed fabrics.
As far as wool is concerned, the Chinese dominate with their range of fabrics for top quality men's suits (cashmere and sophisticated blends), like the Nanshan Group and Indian firms like S.Kumars Nationwide (wool and cashmere blend, wool, and silk, mohair blends, linen or cotton) or the OCM group that is part of the Burlington conglomerate.
Linen is also found in abundance thanks to the Chinese linen producers like Harbin Sunshine Linen Textile, who buy their raw material from French and Belgian flax growers.
