Japanese textile firm Opelontex Co has developed a new swimsuit fibre that will offer greater resistance to chlorine damage.

According to the Tokyo-based firm, its new Lycra fibre T-909B is the first cationic dye-dyeable polyurethane elastic fibre ever to be made. It is said to stretch softly and shrink quickly.
