Optimer licenses new Turkish Spinner
Optimer Performance Fibers has licensed Filidea, a new joint venture between Turkey’s Abalioglu Textile Industries, Inc. and Italian Marchi & Fildi, to produce yarns using its Dri-release with FreshGuard moisture management technology in Turkey.
Marchi & Fildi and Abalioglu entered into a joint venture last June to provide value-added performance yarns from a large selection of fibres.
“Filidea’s flexibility and ‘boutique’ mentality are key to the relationship,” says Optimer marketing director, Karen Deniz. “They are dedicated to quality and the environment as well as quick to respond to customer’s needs. They are incredible at fast turnarounds and can accommodate small minimums.”
Filidea runs a five-star testing lab that controls quality throughout the spinning process beginning with the fibre. It holds an ISO-9000 certification and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. The company has offices in Denizli and Istanbul, Turkey, and Biella, Italy.
According to Ms Deniz, Optimer plans to work with Filidea to develop a four to six colour in-stock yarn programme primarily for socks to further aid speed to market.
