According to reports, sports apparel, footwear and accessories firm Reebok has cut approximately 310 jobs as part of a restructuring operation, effective immediately.

Job losses will take place at the firm’s Canton headquarters, its Mattapoisett facility and Cedar Rapids (Iowa), as well as in Latin America, Montreal and Indianapolis.

"With the current economic conditions and the realities of our business, we have taken the necessary steps to bring our cost structure in line with our 2009 targets," chief executive, Ulrich Becker, said in a statement. "This is a difficult day for all of us."
