PGA show in full swing
The 56th PGA Merchandise Show opened on January 29 in Orlando, Florida.
US Ryder Cup player Thomas Brent "Boo" Weekley, wearing his trademark camouflage golf shirt, joined PGA of America president, Jim Remy, in special opening-day ceremonies by blowing an air horn to officially tee off the show.
The festivities continued throughout the day. Titleist returned to the show with its informative "Titleist Experience" in the Linda Chapin Auditorium with an upbeat presentation of new product lines and the introduction of its 2009 Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls highlighted by its touring professionals on videotape.
Callaway Golf stole the celebrity spotlight on the afternoon of the first day with a special celebration of LPGA Tour great and Hall of Famer Annika Sorenstam at the PGA Equipment Forum. Ms Sorenstam is the all-time leading money winner in women's professional golf.
Other highlights included: Hank Haney engaging golf teachers at the PGA Equipment Forum, PING's 50th birthday celebrations and the PGA of America Awards.
