TAO touts "ideal moisture management"

Israeli producer of nylon 6.6, Nilit, has announced that its high-performance moisture management Aquarius fibre will now be used in Aridus winter underwear from TAO Technical-Wear, a leading German sportswear manufacturer.

Nilit argues that the fibre, designed to deliver moisture management performance, represents "a significant advancement" in nylon 6.6 design. The yarn’s shape is designed to accelerate the removal of moisture away the body.

Part of the moisture management capability of Aquarius comes from an additive that is permanently embedded throughout the fibre, but its special cross-section also contributes by maximising the wicking surface area. At the same time the fibre’s micro-channels transport moisture away from the body.

Thilo de Ponte, export sales manager at TAO Technical Wear said on launching the new Aridus collection: “Our high-performing winter underwear for active sports will be a premium product for 2009-2010. One advantage is the fibre, Nilit Aquarius, promises ideal moisture management.”
