First in Europe with 100% dyeable polypropylene

Italian yarn manufacturer Maclodio is celebrating success in producing 100% dyeable polypropylene.
The company is claiming to be the first in Europe to have spun the yarn successfully from the CoolVisions polymer that is being manufactured in the US by FiberVisions.
Maclodio's Daniele Beringheli told sportstextiles.com that the development came about after he visited FiberVisions in Atlanta in June 2008.
His company is already working with Italian fabric producer Olimpias to make available material that Mr Beringheli believes will prove "very interesting" to sports garment manufacturers and brands.
"I know people have doubted that 100% dyeable polypropylene could become a reality," he said, "but it is possible. The work we have done with FiberVisions and Olimpias proves it."
