17/02/2009
Swedish sports apparel specialist Craft has announced that cross-country skiing star Charlotte Kalla will remain a member of its professional athlete team for at least another two years.
The Swedish Tour de Ski winner has renewed her sponsorship deal with the company until 2011, taking it beyond the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in the Canadian city from February 12–28, 2010. Ms Kalla will be equipped with training and competition gear for all layers by Craft, including running and cycling gear for her summer training programme. The contract also involves a close collaboration regarding product development, which will mean she will play a role in designing a racing suit for the Olympics.
Hans Larsson, managing director of Craft, said on announcing the contract extension: “Charlotte is not only one of the best cross-country skiers in the world, she is also a great personality with a great passion for sports. We believe that she is the perfect athlete to transport the brand’s commitment to sports. We’ve profited so much from Charlotte’s contribution to the development of our cross-country gear, and we will continue to do so in the future.”
