TNF overhauls its European sales structure

24/02/2009

The North Face has announced several key changes to its sales structure for the markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, effective immediately.

Following the departure of Fabio Marangoni as sales manager for emerging markets, who has decided to leave the industry to pursue other career opportunities, Erica Zambon has been promoted to the newly created position of sales manager for Central Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa.

On announcing Ms Zambon’s appointment, the company said she had a strong sales and marketing background and would enable greater brand positioning in the region. In the meantime, she will continue to work in her current role as the company’s brand and trade marketing manager until a replacement is found.

Gianluca Pandolfo will assume the responsibility of strategic account manager for Intersport International. In this new role, Mr Pandolfo will coordinate the entire account’s organisation through The North Face’s country manager structure and provide the brand’s main point of contact with Intersport International in Berne.

At the same time, Andrea De Lauso will take over Mr Pandolfo’s vacant position of country manager for Italy. Recruitment is currently under way for the position of a new sales manager for Italy.

The three post-holders will continue to be based in Treviso, Italy, and will report directly to Timo Schmidt-Eisenhart, sales director for The North Face in Europe. On making the announcements, she commented: “These new enhancements to our sales organisation will further enable growth by strengthening customer relationships and providing increased stability across the region.”
