Càrn steps into outdoor market
UK-based brand Càrn has launched its first outdoor footwear range. The spring-summer 2009 collection is now available in the UK and will cater for various outdoor activities including trail running and trekking.
Richard Dean, the brand’s founder and director, said: “Positioned alongside the top-end brands Càrn has been under careful development for the past two years and we are immensely excited and proud that UK consumers will soon be able to get their hands on and experience Càrn’s quality.”
One of the collection’s key components is the incorporation of GE Energy’s eVent fabrics. Because of their unique Direct Venting technology, the fabrics offer both durable waterproofness and evaporative cooling.
For trail running, the Cobra is a sleek, multi-purpose road and off-road running shoe that offers stability and comfort but is robust enough to cope with a variety of surfaces from tarmac to rock. The VIPER eV features all the attributes of the Cobra with the added protection of the eVent waterproof fabric.
The Storm Chaser eV Low also features the waterproof fabric and is a hard-wearing and durable shoe that is able to cope with the demands of walking and low level mountain climbing. The Stratosphere eV LOW offers an alternative for those who prefer a fully synthetic upper and is built to cope with the demands of walking and low level mountain climbing.
The Storm Chaser eV Mid incorporates all the attributes of the Storm Chaser eV Low but has an extended collar design to provide additional ankle support and superior protection against the elements particularly over more rugged terrain.
