Achieving water-repellent treatments has been a problem for many but Rudolf has successfully turned to Mother Nature to provide the answer. The natural world has many water-repellent mechanisms. Understanding and replicating them for modern industrial use has been difficult. Until now.
Two new product families, BIONIC FINISH®ECO and BIO-LOGIC®, from the Group are now available. The former is the innovative results of the Group’s analysis of mechanisms in nature, whereas the latter does not depend on non-renewable resources such as oil.
BIONIC FINISH®ECO focuses specifically on durable water repellency (DWR) with performance at its core. In keeping with the discipline from which it takes its name, biologically-inspired engineering or bionics, it uses natural design as its inspiration.
BIO-LOGIC® focuses on product functionality obtained directly from nature, DWR and beyond.

Fluorine-Free, Water Repellent Finishes For Ultimate Performance
BIONIC FINISH®ECO from RUDOLF GROUP is nature’s work reproduced in textiles and apparel to protect us from water, allowing us to perform.
In 2003, RUDOLF GROUP borrowed from nature the idea of dendrimers (from dendron, the Greek word for ‘tree’). These molecules are made of multi-functional branches that interact among themselves, crystallise and organise themselves into highly ordered, multi-component systems. These polymers attach to the textile and deliver fluorine-free DWR performance.
In 2021 BIONIC FINISH®ECO comes as an improved and extended family of unique non-halogenated, APEO-free, fluorine-free formulations suited to different materials and designed for different applications and needs.
Still based on patented dendrimer technology, the new, strengthened BIONIC FINISH®ECO’s product portfolio delivers highly efficient and durable performance with hardly any impact on fabric feel and appearance. It is suitable for applications that range from technical textiles to apparel for sports and outdoor, from casual apparel to fashion clothing.
