Moncler CEO ready to resume when it’s time

Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini has said he is preparing to resume the brand’s activities once the Italian government gives businesses the go-ahead to do so, and there may ultimately be a renewed focus on the digital aspects of the luxury outerwear brand.

Mr Ruffini was speaking to Bloomberg, where he also said his company is prepared to handle the expected decline in the luxury sector. Mr Ruffini acknowledged efforts may include the Moncler Genius initiative, a project through which the brand has different designers contribute collections.

The Moncler Genius initiative is described by the company as: “One house, different voices. Eight collections. Twelve design partners. A curation of the now. Times move, Moncler Genius moves, and reaffirms itself as an open concept driven by experimentation.” According to the website, a number of designers are already slated for this year; it remains to be seen how each one’s work will unfold in the current circumstances.
