ZDHC recognises another chemical conformance standard
23/02/2018
Non-profit research organisation CPA launched the standard in April 2017. It built on the success of its Safer Chemicals tool, which had already been in use in the market for a decade.
Chemical suppliers can now use the GreenScreen standard to indicate Level 1 conformance of their products to the ZDHC MRSL on the ZDHC Gateway Chemical Module.
Shari Franjevic, GreenScreen programme manager, explained: “ZDHC’s leadership is transforming how apparel and footwear brands manage chemicals in their products and supply chains. Clean Production Action looks forward to partnering with ZDHC on their groundbreaking work.”
This addition brings the list of authorised certifiers for chemical conformance to six. The other five are: NimarTek Detox Laboratory (NDL), Eco-Passport by Oeko-Tex, ToxServices Full Material Disclosure (ToxFMD), BLC Chem-Map, and the Global Organics Textile Standard (GOTS).
