Avery promotes sustainable cotton farming in Africa
Avery Dennison is a global partner of the Cotton made in Africa project. The project, led by Dr Michael Otto and funded by the Aid by Trade Foundation aims to promote sustainable cotton farming in Africa. International retailers and textile apparel manufacturers including Otto Group, Tchibo, Puma and Tom Tailor, have already joined the programme. Avery Dennison will also be the exclusive global supplier of garment labels and tags to all project partners.
The Cotton made in Africa project aims to build bridges between African cotton farmers and large textile producers and consumers in western countries. The project is designed to enable farmers’ children to attend school as part of its sustainable development plan.
