New eco fabric at Jersey Lomellina
Italian warp-knitted fabric manufacturer Jersey Lomellina has produced a new ecological fabric called Renew made from 80% recycled polyamide and 20% Xtra Life Lycra.
The polyamide used comes from production waste, scraps and even finished products such as carpets and rugs.
According to the company the fabric offers softness and compactness. It offers UV protection (UPF 50+), is quick drying and, because it uses Xtra Life Lycra, it offers high chlorine resistance. Renew fabric is also said to cling well to the body without restricting movement. It can be used for competitive swimwear and in fashion swimwear. It weighs 160 g/m².
