Textiles could help with economic recovery in Nigeria
Like most other parts of the world, Nigeria has been unable to escape the effects of the economic downturn. However, some senior officials believe investment in the textile segment could help the country get back on the road to recovery.
According to Alhaji Sule Lamido, governor of the state of Jigawa, a healthier textile segment could have stood Nigeria in better stead when the crisis began. He believes the country should be making more of its natural resources and that all that is missing is “patriotism and commitment”.
