According to outdoor gear and apparel retail cooperative Recreational Equipment, Inc (REI), winter weather brings with it a variety activities for families from hiking, skiing and snowboarding, to sledding, snowshoeing and building snow forts. The company has launched a new ‘Find Out’ page on its website so that customers can access a range of resources including information on winter gear and apparel choices and advice from its “green vest” experts to help families prepare properly for outdoor adventures.

Its offering includes new children’s gear for skiing and snowboarding, and the company is offering its members the chance to bring in “gently used” children’s and junior ski or snowboard gear purchased at REI in exchange for 20% off replacement items.

Adults can update their layering systems with the company’s new Windbrake fleece collection, which is said to protect against winds of up to 50 mph, and the new Taku collection, which combines softshell and hardshell fabric to offer stretch and warmth.
