REI tent wins Gear of the Year award
Outdoor gear and clothing cooperative Recreational Equipment, Inc’s (REI’s) Half Dome 2 Plus Tent has been selected as a 2010 Gear of the Year” award recipient by Outside magazine.
The new Plus version series was designed with an extended floor plan that adds ten inches of length and four inches of width to the standard new Half Dome 2. The tent’s extra room offers added comfort for taller outdoor enthusiasts, for gear and even for the family pet. The strong, lightweight backpacking tent is said to maximise entry and exit access and storage space.
On winning the award, Lee Fromson, vice president of REI gear and apparel, said: “This tent series continues to win industry accolades which validate our team’s commitment to offering our customers innovation, quality and value.”
