REI launches new cycling apparel at Interbike

24/09/2010

Outdoor clothing retail co-operative REI launched its 2011 cycling apparel collection at Interbike (Las Vegas, September 22-24).

The theme for the collection is “never a bad time to ride” and the new line includes a range of urban, road and mountain biking apparel to keep riders dry and comfortable.

Designed for riding on wet, blustery days, the new Verita Jacket for men and women uses eVent fabric and protects against winds of up to 60 mph. Also new for the season is the Headwind Jacket, a polyester/nylon/spandex shell, which is also windproof up to 60 mph. Urban highlights include the Marco Jerseys and Marco Knickers for men, Rhumba Tank and Flirt Pedal Pushers for women.

In other news, REI is opening its first New York City store this autumn. The 39,000 square-foot store will be located in the historic Puck Building at the corner of East Houston and Lafayette in SoHo, and will generate 100 new jobs. It will offer gear and apparel for a variety of outdoor activities including camping, climbing, cycling, fitness, hiking, paddling, snow sports and travel.
