UK-based lifestyle clothing brand Rampant Sporting has opened its first store in Exeter, UK.

Insight Retail Consulting (IRC) recently acquired the retail unit for its client, Rampant Sporting. IRC secured a 12-year lease on 16 Gandy Street, Exeter for owner and founder of Rampant Sporting, Mr Richard Hurtley.

IRC identified Gandy Street as an ideal location for Rampant Sporting as it has a number of high-end fashion boutiques and stylish wine bars. The lifestyle clothing brand, which launched in 2007 as a brand selling luxury rugby socks, has steadily grown through its online sales and attendance at numerous lifestyle shows and events.

Martin Bloom, managing director of Insight Retail Consulting said: “There was just no other choice of location for Rampant Sporting’s first store. As soon as we discovered that a premises in Gandy Street was available we had to secure it. This will hopefully be the first of many new stores for Rampant Sporting.”

Richard Hurtley, founder of Rampant Sporting said; “The move to Exeter is very important to us as it is the birthplace of this business. The brand was conceived on a university couch in Exeter in 2005 and now here it is going back to its roots, with a store less than a mile from where it all began.”

With the active support of Insight Retail Consulting, Rampant Sporting is expected to open more standalone stores in the region over the coming years.
