Texprocess attracts 16,000 trade visitors
The first Texprocess event attracted 16,000 visitors from 86 countries. The exhibition was held in Frankfurt am Main from 24-27 May, 2011. Over half of visitors came from outside Germany. The top ten visitor regions included Central and East Europe, Asia and North Africa. 330 international technology leaders from 40 countries presented the complete spectrum of their innovative and high-tech solutions for the apparel and textile-processing industries. Texprocess was held concurrently with Techtextil, International Trade Fair for Technical Textiles and Nonwovens, from 24-26 May, which attracted 24,500 trade visitors.
Detlef Braun, member of the executive board of Messe Frankfurt said: “The range of products to be seen at Texprocess was very well received by trade visitors, and not just visitors from the apparel industry but also those from the automobile and furniture industries. The exhibitors were extremely pleased with the high level of internationality and decision-making authority of the trade visitors.”
For members of VDMA Garment and Leather Technology, which is also the conceptual partner of the event, the première of Texprocess exceeded all expectations. Commenting on this, Elgar Straub, general manager of VDMA, said: “The combination of Texprocess and Techtextil is exactly what the sector needed and this combination proved to be a great success among both exhibitors and visitors. The première has shown that the Texprocess concept is the way forward. And the positive atmosphere prevailing here is sure to be reflected in outstanding orders.”
Thomas Rasch, general manager of the GermanFashion association said: “All of our members were most impressed by the broad range of products at the fair – great to see and highly successful. An excellent debut.”
This opinion was seconded by the European Apparel and Textile Confederation (Euratex). General manager Francesco Marchi said: “The combination of Texprocess and Techtextil is a convincing approach that makes it possible to bring together the entire textile value chain – from industrial applications to research projects – at the same time and place. We are looking forward to the next event, which will again demonstrate how innovative and future-oriented this sector is.”
The next Texprocess will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from June 11 – 14, 2013. Texprocess Americas will make its debut from April 24 – 26, 2012 in Atlanta.
