German textile machinery association VDMA has showcased its latest textile and apparel machinery at an even in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi. The exhibition, supported by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), comes at a time when Vietnam’s textile sector is looking to upgrade its technology to cope with increasing demand.

The event was attended by more than 600 representatives and exports from the country’s textile industry and they had the opportunity to make contact and exchange information with German machinery suppliers. Vietnam is currently making moves to update the technology used in the textile and apparel industry in order to improve product quality, especially for manufacturers that supply garments for export.

“Due to the recently signed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), Vietnam is increasingly becoming a much preferred textile manufacturing location by companies worldwide,” said Thomas Waldmann, managing director of VDMA.
