Growth in textile and apparel exports to the US from Central America

04/08/2011
The US Office of Textiles and Apparel has said exports of clothing and textiles from El Salvador to the US increased by 27% in the first five months of this year, reaching $1.8 billion.

Honduras reported growth of 20%, achieving earnings of more than $2.5 billion, and there were increases also for Guatemala (6.5%) and the Dominican Republic (8.5%).

A free trade agreement with the US and speed to market are the main factors in this growth.
