Tommy Hilfiger opens largest UK flagship store
Sports and casual apparel brand Tommy Hilfiger plans to open a flagship stores in London's Knightsbridge on November 24, 2011.
The store will reflect the same aesthetic as the label’s New York global flagship on Fifth Avenue, featuring sleek walnut fixtures and oak flooring.
The space will carry sportswear, menswear and womenswear catwalk collections, as well as childrenswear and the Hilfiger Denim line.
Tommy Hilfiger said: “Since starting my brand in 1985, prep has been my main inspiration, and as the birthplace of preppy style, England is very close to my heart. London, rich in culture, history and art, is the perfect location for us to anchor our largest UK flagship store, and offer our customers the complete classic American cool Tommy Hilfiger lifestyle.”
Tommy Hilfiger CEO Fred Gehring said: “The opening in this impressive retail environment provides us with an additional opportunity to position the brand in the market. London is one of the world’s leading cities in retail and Brompton Road offers a unique blend of luxury and more accessible retail, making it the perfect location for our brand. Given the momentum of our business in the UK, this is a natural evolution to deliver on our goal to have a flagship store in all of the capital cities of Europe.”
The new Knightsbridge store joins more than 1,000 Hilfiger stores worldwide.
