Brands make Uzbek cotton pledge

12/09/2011
More than 60 of the world’s best known apparel companies, including many big names from the sport and outdoor sector, have signed a pledge to avoid sourcing cotton from Uzbekistan if there is evidence the fibre has been harvested using forced child labour. The companies will maintain this stance until the International Labour Organization (ILO) confirms that the practice has anded.

Signatories include adidas, Columbia Sportswear, Eddie Bauer, New Balance and Puma.
