New season jackets use PrimaLoft for insulation

High-performance insulation and yarn manufacturer PrimaLoft has announced that its insulation technology features in a range of high-end outdoor jackets from prominent brands for the new autumn-winter season. The company said the finished garment brands it has worked with were attracted to warmth, light weight, softness and water-repellency, breathability and compressibility of its “down-alternative” microfibre products.

The jackets include the women’s Terrex PrimaLoft Jumper from adidas. It’s specifically engineered for a woman’s body and has PrimaLoft Sport insulation, a slanted front half-zip, kangaroo pocket and fitted hood. It weighs less than 350 grammes. The LD Laax Check snowsports jacket from Lafuma uses classic PrimaLoft insulation.

Also on the list is the Celsius Packable Jacket from Odlo. Again, PrimaLoft Sport provides insulation and the jacket even packs up neatly enough to be used as a pillow if required. Another of the products, the Super Zephyrus Hoodie from The North Face, uses PrimaLoft One as a its insulation technology. Here ripstop fabric on the central area, the hood and the external sleeves provide high levels of resistance against wind, while Polartec PowerStretch inserts on the hips, under the arms and on the spine increase protection and mobility.

Mountain Equipment, with the Alpamayo Jacket, Dainese, with its Second Skin Jacket, and Peak Performance, with the PrimaLoft Hood Jacket, are other brands to have used PrimaLoft One. Meanwhile, Millet has opted for the PrimaLoft Eco insulation product for its Trilogy Limited product.
