DuPont opens new Kevlar plant

DuPont formally opened a new facility to manufacture its Kevlar fibre in Berkeley County, South Carolina, on October 6.

The plant at Cooper River will allow DuPont to meet increased customer demand for advanced protective materials in emerging industries around the world, the company said. Commercial supply of Kevlar aramid fibre will begin by the end of the year.
