DuPont has found a buyer for its aramid business and its well-known brand names Kevlar and Nomex. Arclin, a chemicals company based in Georgia, has agreed to acquire the division. The transaction is said to value the business at some $1.8 billion. The deal is a combination of cash (approximately $1.2 billion), receivable notes and shares valued at $325 million and which would give DuPont a 17.5% stake in the future Arclin company.
DuPont’s Aramids business includes five manufacturing sites, employs a staff of 1,900 and generated sales of $1.3 billion in 2024.
