Usain Bolt inspires new Puma line
Puma has launched evoSPEED, a shoe collection inspired by Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt. The criteria for the collection was “light, flex, and fit”, with styles various disciplines including running, football, motorsport, golf, cricket and indoor sports.
Inspired by the competitive performance spikes Usain Bolt will wear at the Olympic Games in London, the Bolt evoSPEED Runner is a light, breathable and flexible trainer built to enhance speed for runners. Using evoFOAM, a lightweight midsole cushioning, it offers speed and smoothness.
The evoSPEED 1 FG will be worn by top football players
including Sergio Aguero, Radamel Falcao and Mario Gomez. It is one of the
lightest boots in the market and is designed to help players achieve high
speed. The upper features a soft, ultrathin microfibre material, with stability
provided by the internal EverFit cage. The anatomically engineered lightweight
one-piece outsole provides stability and support. It also features an external
heel counter and a new Puma evoAptoLast, which provides excellent fit.
The evoSPEED Mid for motorsport features a full EVA comfort midsole, an internal
EverFit cage for enhanced fit, and a heel wrap for better grip. A rubber spray
toe-cap has been added for extra durability.
The FAAS Trac evoSPEED will be worn by Rickie Fowler at the
US Open and other 2012 golf tournaments. It provides flexibility to enhance a
360° movement as well as lightweight materials, durable waterproofing and taped
seams for protection. The outsole combines directionally moulded S2Quill spikes
with replaceable S2Quill spikes for added grip on the course.
The evoSPEED Cricket Spike features a soft and ultrathin upper, while stability
is provided by the EverFit cage. A mesh window adds breathability and the
anatomically engineered one-piece outsole provides stability and support.
The evoSPEED Indoor 1 will be worn by international handball players such as
Luc Abalo from the French national team. It uses lightweight materials, has a
super flexible outsole and includes the EverFit cage for better fit and
support. The removable perforated sockliners offer greater comfort.
