Sports apparel brand Zeven is to be the official kit partner for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ninth edition of cricket’s Indian Premier League (IPL) which got underway on April 9. They will become the first IPL side to have separate jerseys for home and away matches.

RCB, who can count on superstar batsmen Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers in their squad, have signed a deal with Zeven to provide 24 different products, including match kit, training kit and caps. Playing jerseys will be made from Atmocool fabric in order to keep the players cool in Indian conditions.

“We are sure that the technology developed by Zeven for Indian weather conditions will help RCB players fight the battle on the field, while the designs will capture the hearts of the RCB fans,” says Mahesh Bhupathi , Zeven co-founder and Indian tennis star.

Since the first season in 2008 the IPL has grown into one of world’s most popular and lucrative domestic cricket tournaments, resulting in a positive impact on the Indian economy and drawing a massive global audience.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to taste victory in the IPL, having twice been defeated in the final of the tournament. They will make their 2016 bow at home to Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 12.
